Thank You for Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who participated in Parent-Teacher Conferences this fall! Your engagement and partnership in your child’s education are truly appreciated. Working together ensures that every student has the support they need to thrive.
If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule a follow-up meeting or check-in—we are always here to support you.
The Importance of Attendance
As we head into the final weeks before winter break, we want to emphasize the importance of consistent attendance. Regular school attendance is key to academic success and social-emotional growth. Even one or two missed days can make it harder for students to stay on track.
Thank you for making every effort to ensure your child attends school regularly. If your child will be absent, please notify the school as soon as possible.
Seasonal Reminders
As winter weather settles in, please help your child come prepared for the colder temperatures with warm coats, hats, and gloves. Let’s stay cozy, safe, and ready to learn!
Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our school community. We wish you and your family a joyful, restful, and magical holiday season!

In collaboration,
Mrs. Kavustuk

Holiday Toy Drive & Letters of Encouragement

This holiday season, we are proud to support a meaningful community effort led by Kim McGraw, who joins us each year for our Veterans Day assembly. Kim is once again hosting her annual toy drive for children spending the holidays in the hospital, and we are excited to partner with her in spreading joy and comfort.
Kim is collecting new, unwrapped gifts for boys and girls from newborn through age 16. Families may drop off donations in the front office, or students may bring gifts directly to their classroom teacher. All contributions will help brighten the holidays for children who need a little extra cheer this season.
Kim also shared that she will be delivering the collected toys at the end of the month and asked if our students might create encouraging letters or cards for children who are hospitalized, including some who are courageously fighting cancer. If your child would like to participate, teachers will have opportunities for students to create cards at school. A collection box for letters and cards will be available in the front office.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping us make a positive impact on children and families during this special time of year. Your kindness truly makes a difference.

Holiday Shop, December 1st-5th

I'm excited to share some information about our upcoming holiday shop at school! This year, we're focusing on teaching our students about the joy of giving to others during the holiday season.

During their scheduled library time, students will have the opportunity to visit our holiday shop, set up right here at school in the library. The shop will offer a variety of small, affordable gifts that your children can purchase for family and friends. Our goal is to provide a fun and educational experience that encourages them to think about others and feel the happiness that comes from giving.

We believe this is an excellent way to instill the values of generosity and thoughtfulness in our children, and we hope your child enjoys this opportunity to spread some holiday cheer! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Warmly,
Mrs. Culafi
School Librarian

Veterans Day Celebration – A Wonderful Success!

We are thrilled to share that our Veterans Day Celebration was a truly meaningful and memorable event. Thank you to all the family members who are veterans and joined us during their student’s lunch period to share their experiences, answer student questions, and help our Dragons learn about the importance of service and sacrifice.
Our students were deeply engaged and inspired as they listened to stories, asked thoughtful questions, and learned firsthand what it means to serve our country. Sharing lunch together made the day even more special, and our students loved having the opportunity to honor their guests in such a personal and heartfelt way.
Thank you again to all who participated and supported this celebration. Your presence helped create a meaningful learning experience for our students and a sincere tribute to the veterans in our Lyle community. We appreciate your service and your continued partnership in helping our students learn, grow, and honor those who protect our freedoms.

Families and children enjoy lunch together in a school cafeteria.

Lyle Elementary Is Officially a Distinguished Kindness School!

We are excited to share some wonderful news—Lyle Elementary has officially been named a Distinguished Kindness School by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation!
During World Kindness Week, our students demonstrated what it truly means to be Lyle Dragons. They signed a Kindness Pledge and participated in a variety of fun and meaningful activities that celebrated compassion, empathy, and positivity. From classroom challenges to schoolwide acts of care, our students showed that kindness is at the heart of who we are.
This recognition is a celebration of our entire school community—students, staff, and families—who work each day to create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Thank you for helping us foster a place where kindness not only happens, but thrives!
